I remember when I was trying to figure out all this theory stuff.
I kept running into dead ends, getting confused and feeling like
I would never really understand how to actually apply it and make
it work for my playing.
I thought I understood modes.
Watched another video on the subject.
Realized I did not understand modes.
Started over again.
And I realized, what was holding me back was, quite simply,
VOCABULARY. By changing just the wording used in music theory
books, everything became so much simpler!
Imagine if I would have given up trying to figure all this out. I
can promise you the following things would not have happened:
1. I would NOT have been able to make a comfortable living
teaching guitar (yes, teaching how to apply music theory on the
guitar is VERY profitable!)
2. I would NOT have landed higher paying gigs
3. I would NOT have been able to enjoy playing as much as I do
now
4. I would NOT have taught masterclasses with Dweezil Zappa, Tom
Quayle, Derryl Gabel, etc.
I'd love to hear YOUR #1 Reason you want to truly understand how
to apply music theory to your guitar playing.
