I often talk about how learning licks isn't the best way to
develop on the instrument. What I'm not saying though is DON'T
learn licks at all! They can be a good way to develop technique
or to give inspiration to break you out of a rut. And besides
that, they're fun!
Inevitably, we're going to end up learning a BUNCH of licks over
time, and if you're anything like me, you probably hit a point
where you forget a lick for every new one you learn. So what
happens when these are licks that YOU'RE writing and want to
remember to use later? Today's video has you covered. I have 5
tips to help you remember those licks better and internalize
them-- whether they're covers, or originals that you come up with
and want to keep.
DON'T LET FORGETFULNESS GET IN THE WAY OF CREATIVITY! (
