Improving on any instrument involves several different components
developing at the same time. Among these are: technique, working
knowledge (theory, tone), and confidence. If we aren't improving
in all of these areas, we may not feel like we're really
improving at all. Improvement in one area might just highlight
the shortcomings in others!Accordingly, it makes sense that you
would want to develop a balanced approach to practice, so that
you can improve all aspects in relationship to each other. Today,
we're going to look at ways to "mature" your playing. If you've
been playing for a long time and your theory and technique are
solid but your actual playing is lacking, today's lesson is for
you. Make your playing and creativity match your skills and
