The world of 2025 will be heavily shaped by the outcome of the US 2024 election, with a Harris presidency largely supporting continuity with Biden, while a Trump presidency would bring a significant shake-up, with rising tensions over international trade, especially between the US and China, and greater strains between the US and its allies. US domestic politics would also shift. Regardless of who wins the US presidency, the ongoing war in Ukraine, the aftermath of the Israel-Hamas war, and tensions in the Indo-Pacific will keep geopolitical risks elevated for the foreseeable future. The year 2025 will also see notable elections in Germany, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, and Japan, all of which could notably shift policy direction.
During this two-hour virtual event, BMI Analysts and political scientists from GeoQuant will be joined by special guests to discuss short- and long-term political and geopolitical risks as well as other major global factors.
Similar to previous years, the event will include live presentations followed by Q&A and panel discussions, details of which will follow shortly.
